Finally, I get a chance to breathe for a few minutes. Sorry, no Foodie Friday today. I have missed blogging ! It’s my time to reflect, discuss my beliefs, struggles and feelings on my terms. We can agree to disagree on various viewpoints, but I gotta admit, Not being to be able to write for a week has been a STRUGGLE due to getting used to a new promotion and new hours.
I’d like to thank everyone who has reached out to me in regards to my last blog post. It was just the tip of the iceberg of what my family went through along with my feelings on current events. From time to time, in order to keep my sanity, if you don’t mind in between the beauty reviews, recipes and DIY posts, I’d like to rant a little from time to time so that you can get to know a little bit more about me and who knows. We may even feel the same!
That blog post was literally the reason why I started The Scoop. I wanted it to be an online collaborative to talk about different viewpoints and subjects curated by me in the hopes to inspire other women to find what works for you.
Funny, in my new job, I’m getting the chance to inspire and help others daily. I wasn’t looking for it or hoping for it, it just happened. It is a balancing act, that’s both fun and challenging. Since being in my new role, I’m already seeing some small rewards in the new workers I’ve hired. To hear the happiness in their voices, their laughter and positivity while learning something new, feels great! Their success is mine, that makes me feel as if I am doing something right.
While I am a HUGE fan of their blogs, I’m a middle-aged single African-American female who lately who feels as if she’s a square peg trying to fit into a round hole. Where’s content for my age? Where are our voices? We shop, we date, we have relationships and careers too!
So, I decided to share of my tips that were passed down to me with and mix them with things my friends know how to do from time to time and thus The Scoop is born.
Inspiration can come anywhere. It can be from one of my contributors telling you about a favorite product they use or me suggesting how to update a room for less than a $100. Hell, it can even be from watching people chat in a parking lot.
If one person finding happiness or gets where I’m coming from in a sea of thousands, then I have done what I’ve set out to do. That in itself makes this site fun!
We can learn from each other or live in a protective bubble where everyone thinks and acts the same. So which do you choose?
I love living beyond the bubble. How about you?
Thank you for inspiring me. Tell me who inspires all of you?
